Headset Identification Research
Enter a USB vendor/product ID and any model wording. The standard lookup works whether or not AI is configured. AI may offer additional suggestions when enabled. Neither method approves a headset.

Optional AI Headset Research
AI research is staff-only, optional, and disabled by default. It cannot inspect uploaded photos or approve a headset. Free USB ID lookups keep working regardless of provider. Configure credentials as Supabase Edge Function secrets, never in this page.

Help, How-To Guides & Troubleshooting
Quick answers for evaluators and administrators. Some settings and user-management actions require administrator access.
No matching topics. Try a shorter search or contact support.
Start here: reviewing a candidate check
Open Candidate Results, find the candidate by name or verification code, and open the detailed results. Review each check and its supporting evidence before recording a decision. Refresh the results if a recent submission does not appear.
Request headset photographs or network screenshots
Open the candidate details, find Evidence & Evaluator Review, choose the evidence type, and add concise candidate instructions. Generate the private link and share it with that candidate only. Headset requests should show the physical headset, USB connection or adapter, and model label where available. Network requests should specify the speed test or VPN/location evidence needed.
Each invitation is intended for one submission and expires after 24 hours. Generate a new link if it was already used or expired.
Use the QR code, copy link, or email draft
Display the invitation on the candidate's computer so they can scan its QR code with their phone. They can instead open the HTTPS website link directly on their computer and upload from there. Copy Link lets you paste the link into an approved chat; Compose Email opens a draft only and does not send it automatically. Verify the recipient before sharing.
Review evidence: Approved, Rejected, Pending Review, or More Information Needed
Open the candidate's evidence entry, inspect uploaded images at full size, then choose the appropriate evidence decision. Approved accepts that evidence only; it does not automatically pass the candidate's entire system check. Rejected means the evidence does not meet requirements. Use More Information Needed and explain exactly what is missing. An unchanged review should not produce duplicate audit entries.
Assign an evaluator and track progress
In the candidate details, administrators can assign an active evaluator and choose a status such as In Review, Waiting for Candidate, or Completed. Save the assignment and check the assignment history. Evaluators can view assignments, but assignment editing may be restricted to administrators.
Windows System Check requests and results
Use the Windows System Check area in candidate details to view existing diagnostic requests and any returned results. If none appear, confirm that the candidate used the correct invitation and that their desktop checker completed submission. The Windows desktop application is a separate program; running a browser check alone does not guarantee a Windows diagnostic result.
Headset identification and USB connection
Use Headset Identification Research for available USB VID/PID or model information. A headset is not approved merely because an identifier matched. Confirm a supported USB-wired microphone path and required noise-cancelling microphone function. A 3.5 mm or QD headset may be acceptable with a compatible USB audio adapter that carries microphone audio; verify the actual adapter and connection from photographs when needed. Ear-cup ANC is not the same as a noise-cancelling microphone.
Candidate Check troubleshooting: browser, location, VPN and speed
Try refreshing the page, allowing browser location permission, and rerunning the check. Browser geolocation can fail if permission is denied or the device lacks a usable location fix. If a VPN/proxy is suspected, compare the displayed public IP location with the browser location and ask for evidence when needed; a mismatch alone is not proof of a VPN. Wi-Fi is allowed, though Ethernet is preferred. If the built-in speed check is slow or incomplete, ask for a screenshot from a trusted manual speed test.
QR code will not scan or phone page will not open
Confirm the QR code is fully visible, camera focus is clear, and the phone has an internet connection. Try opening the full HTTPS upload URL directly. If the link reports expired, invalid, already used, or in progress, generate a new invitation rather than attempting to reuse it. Never share an invitation in a public channel.
Photo upload fails or evidence is missing
Use a JPG, PNG, or WebP image no larger than 4 MB. Check the selected evidence type and upload at least one required image. Avoid clicking Submit repeatedly while the page is processing. After a success message, refresh the candidate evidence list. If the submission state is uncertain, ask an administrator to check the record before creating another attempt.
Windows Checker cannot submit results
Confirm the candidate opened the correct Windows-check invitation, has internet access, and is using a supported Windows desktop environment. Have them record any visible error text and the approximate time. Do not assume the result was lost until the evaluator refreshes candidate details and checks for a diagnostic record.
Staff sign-in, password and permissions
Check email and password spelling. Use My Account to change your own password. Administrators use Staff Users to add, approve, or disable staff accounts and manage access. If you don't see an admin action, confirm your assigned role with an administrator rather than sharing credentials.
FAQ: Does Approving Evidence mean the candidate passed?
No. Evidence approval records the staff decision about that particular image or document. The overall system-check results and headset/network requirements must still be evaluated separately.
FAQ: How long do upload links last? Can they be reused?
Private invitation links expire after 24 hours and are intended for one submission. Create a new link for an additional or corrected upload.
FAQ: Is sending an email automatic?
No. Compose Email creates a draft in your configured email application. You must review and send the message yourself.
FAQ: What should I do if a button appears to do nothing?
Wait for the operation's status message, then refresh the relevant list. Do not repeatedly submit a review, evidence upload, or deletion. Capture the button name, page, date/time, and any browser console error for support.
